Doctor Galina Răduleanu is the daughter of Father Boris Răduleanu, confessor of the Communist prisons, and he has also been part of years of imprisonment. He shares some thoughts about the new ideological offensive to which our world is exposed. The word of a doctor is all the more important because, through the psychiatric profession she has been practicing for over fifty years, she has always been close to people, their problems, their psychological and psychiatric pathologies.
“One of the causes of disabling or even mental illness is the increasing dependence on the small screen. This addiction – whether laptop, computer, tablet or television – is like drug addiction: it can no longer live without it. It is an addiction that extends to mature, not only young people but to youth is devastating. There are children who lose their nights, who can no longer go to classes, who reach chronic insomnia, children who do not design their lives without a small screen in front. If they do not have a big screen, they have a tablet and if not that, then the cell phone, which leads them to a loss of any inner life and the relationship with the next one. There are young people who have the impression or pretend to love one another, but when they meet, each one has a computer in front of them, and their relationship of “together” is to look everybody at his computer. That’s what happened!
There is a decrease in empathy, ability to communicate. Since you do not communicate alive with the one next to you, empathy is in a continuous decline. And, in fact, you “communicate” with a virtual person, just as you “communicate” with a photo, but you no longer feel alive, hot, real. It’s an increasing problem, and I think it should – unless it’s deliberate! – to raise a sort of crusade against this dehumanization: the loss of inner life. Our inner life is our ego, the goal of loss of inner self is a persistent target pursued. Before, during the communist era, it was followed by brutal methods. Now it is pursued by more subversive and much more covered – subtle and appealing methods.
In addition, there is one thing that does not exist: the dependence of young people and even adults on mechanical games and gambling. We had patients who had been hospitalized for detoxification, but there is no medicine to detoxify them! It was a time when they felt good, they got rid of this, and then they recovered. They lose their family, they lose their friends, they lose everything. I mean, it’s another drug. A young man of 18 years old recently came to me in the last high school class that was unable to sleep, because for years, during the afternoon teachings, she was sitting at the computer. And when he got to the 12th grade and had to go to school in the morning, it was impossible for him to go – he was losing his hours, the absence … He could not sleep, his sleep was disturbed. And when his mother said he’d shut off his computer or put him out of the house, he said he was committing suicide. Commit suicide! And I think he would. It’s up there. This addictive, frightening addiction is terrifying!
We notice today a certain deviation among many young people: increasingly feminine boys and increasingly masculine girls. When you have lost God, everything is allowed, Dostoievski said. And then it tends not only to the removal of God, but even to His substitution by the will of man. In heaven, the serpent told the first men: “Eat of the tree of knowledge, that ye shall be as God” (cf. Genesis 3: 5). Today, it has come to the conclusion that it is more tempting to say, “You will be like God!” Or “You will be God!”. They are tempted to be demiurgists, to recreate man as a gender identity, even man’s anatomical constitution. You are no longer required to accept your gender anatomy, but you choose what you want to be. So there is a substitution of the Divinity.
And in terms of this new freedom to choose your “sexual orientation,” it is totally a loss of the meaning of our initial existence. What was said, “He will leave man his father and mother, and he will unite with his wife, and be a flesh” (Mark 10: 7-8) is so simple that more can not be said ! Whoever wants “otherwise” is outside Christendom and outside humanity. We want to create another world – we – on principles that lead to the destruction of the being, the destruction of the family and, ultimately, the destruction of humanity.
I think it is a trend that makes a deviant man feel like he is an “avant-garde”, a “advanced” of the times that they want to come. And that the “flea” must disappear, and the new society in which he feels already called must end with both the feeling and the man-woman relationship, and there must be this “delightfully good” world, a rejuvenated ”new world”. Just like Huxley’s “The Wonderful New World”, where the child was in epubrete and there were only ordered relationships – but the culmination is that in Huxley, in this “Wonderful New World”, I have not seen the notion of homosexuality. He was a retrograde too!
In a world in which this is started, to declare that an abnormality is, in fact, normal, it will eventually become normal to become an abnormality. It’s a worse destruction than the atomic bomb! And not only that, but we are witnessing a despotic tendency of the minority’s terror, which seeks to impose this feature of a minority as a norm of conduct and wants to set aside the one who thinks differently. That is, it is still a kind of dictatorship, as in the time of communism. Minority dictates!
These minorities are brought forward just because others want to influence the masses through the back. After all, I think that homosexuals themselves are not the problem – they are just the voice. It can be seen behind the pro-homosexual activism, in most cases made up of heterosexual ideologists or politicians. And before, how many Communists in Romania were there? There were very few, but in the name of the communists of those few or proletarians, an entire society, a whole structure, was thrown down …
The dictatorial system is met by another category, but it is the same. You get a seal. Just as in the time of Communism you were sealing the “enemy of the people”, you are now being put on a “political flaw” or “fundamentalist” seal. If you do not come in and if you oppose – I do not even talk if you have a critical sense! – You are stigmatized and gradually you have some practical consequences. It was as in communism: hunger, cold and all sorts of aberrant and anti-human actions, and you were forced to say “Thank you from the heart of the Party!” Well, absolutely the same: you have no right to oppose or say that the night is black and the day is white. Not! You have to say that the night is white and the day is black. And “Thank You From The Heart!”. It’s the same thing. There is only one other command, but the same unconditional and depersonalizing obedience mechanism!
Know that, through the perseverance of the same idea, slowly, as the water that produces the rock eventually breaks it through advertising, discussion, and the media, each young man begins to ask, “But are they not right ? Is not that what it is? “Once a medical student asked me a book launch, unless the gay relationship is perfectly normal. So it is already beginning to bear fruit and in the mind of man to appear the idea that “Sir, in fact, that may be normal.” Because you see, as someone said, “Slander, slander, that there will be something left” – so persevere with the same idea, that in the end there will be something.
If, forty years ago, the idea of an unmarried couple was regarded with great deal of contempt, it has now become a natural thing, because it has always been on this idea. Well, I do not know if, over a number of years, the homosexual idea will not be considered perfectly normal. And the others will be a minority. Because in the West, faculties are all imbued with this idea. And whoever dares to say something else is eliminated!
I am surprised at one thing: how do other universities exist, the theological universities in which to take an attitude? Why does the Church not take open and direct attitude without condemning but saying: “Brethren, what you are doing is a sin that Sodom and Gomorrah have done in His Making! I can not stop you by force, but I put you in front of you, like a mirror, to know that’s what it is. You have the choice, but you risk losing your soul! “
This has to be said, said loudly, said forcefully, said irrespective of the consequences, as there are so many things to say with great force. About Spiritism, for example, the Church has not said very loudly and openly that it is a great sin, and the Spiritual conception is profound anti-Christian. Many intellectuals believe in reincarnation. I have colleagues, close people who believe in reincarnation and wonder that I fight them: “But how, we are Christians!” This can not be done!
I have known two or three homosexuals in my existence, but who, through an effort made by others and by them, have come out of this situation through spirituality. And they came out! They repented and repented. So it is possible.
At us, in Psychiatry, homosexuals do not go so far because, through their propaganda, they consider themselves perfectly justified, even very “advanced”, so in a certain normality. They should first consider themselves sick, but not considering themselves, they have no reason to get to the psychiatrist. But when I learned Psychiatry, these perversions were also among the psychiatric pathologies. Homosexuality was considered perversion – and it is a perversion, no doubt! – and it was considered a disease.
Prior to the 1970s, sexual deviation was also considered in the Manual of Diagnostics and Statistics of the American Psychiatric Association. Homosexuality is an anomaly. It is an unnatural thing you can get by imitation, by the desire to be something else, to be superior to others. And, look, I feel pleasure. In fact, from this point of view, I believe that Mr. Freud might be very glad, because what he preached was fulfilled, that “everything is sex,” whether it is art, that it is science, or that it is simply … sex. Everything is a pleasure, and that’s what we have to resort to, so as not to complain and the disease appear. So we have to manifest ourselves in choosing our pleasure, and the present society is doing this.
Homosexuality is promoted because the gulf attracts, the mud attracts, the dark attracts … Each of us has light and darkness, but here darkness takes hold, especially when the light is not connected to its Spring. Then darkness overwhelms us, and takes possession of us and of everyone. We read in the Gospel that “the whole world is under the evil one” (1 John 5:19), but we do not dare to get out of the wickedness of the evil one. Christ says, “Dare, I have overcome the world!” (John 16:33), but we do not dare, and we only remain at first: “The whole world is under the evil one”
