This year marks 127 years since the death of its greatest poet whom has appeared Romanian land, “Star Romanian poetry” – Mihai Eminescu.

“He’s the one who said that lime is holy. He’s the one whose name ought not to be taken in vain. (…) He’s the one that we would try as many despair gives us grounds as yet not in despair “(Geo Bogza). He is Eminescu Romanian national poet.

Mihai Eminescu was born on 15 January 1850 in Botosani, is the seventh of 11 children caminar George Eminovici.

After signing in 1860 the German high school in Chernivtsi in 1863 to withdraw as “privatistic” (student particular), nesuportând school discipline. In 1864 clerk at the Court of Botosani, and 1865 is the custodian of the library of his teacher, Aron fist.

The first attempts of Mihai Eminescu’s poetry dates from January 1866, when he debuted with the poem “The tomb of Aron Fist”, which has signed M. Eminovici. Dedicated to the memory of his teacher, the poem appeared in the brochure removed after his death (January 12/24, 1866, in Chernivtsi), entitled “lily of the valley learners gimnăziaşti den Chernivtsi at the grave of their beloved professor Arun fist”.

In the same year begins collaboration with the magazine “Family” in Pest, Joseph Vulcan, which has the merit of it being discovered on future great poet. The real debut in poetry takes place on 25 February 1866 at the age of 16, the no. 6/1866 (25 February-9 March) the magazine when its Director will publish first poem, “If I had ..” signed for the first time Mihai Eminescu (the name being changed from Eminovici I. Vulcan in Eminescu) . It remains important journalistic work of Mihai Eminescu, after in 1876 administrative editor-in “Iasi Courier” will change its status to that of a professional journalist. In parallel, he continued collaboration on “Literary Conversations” among the poems that have appeared here being also “Far are you”, “The Story of the forest”, “Solitude”, “Emperor and proletarian” (1874) “A stay”, “goodbye” first four “Letters” (1881), “letter V” was published posthumously (1890), “Sara dea’l ‘,’ the star ‘, etc. In 1883 appear in the “Almanac Literary Society social-economic ‘Romania flapper’ Vienna ‘, the poem” Star “, then reproduced in the pages of” Literary Conversations “.

A first collection of poetical work Eminescu and only book of poems printed in his lifetime Eminescu appeared on 21 December 1883. The volume “Poems” was printed by the Publishing Bookshop, Socecu & Comp – Bucharest, in a beautiful dress graphics with a portrait of the poet and a brief preface by Titu Maiorescu, who cared for this edition of the poems of Eminescu. The book contains 307 pages, tabs engravings head. It is the only book of poems published during the life of the great poet, the other two editions were published in 1885 and in 1888. The book was published without the author in the country, he was admitted to a nursing home in Germany. Regarding the accuracy of the text, the publisher of this first collection of his poems and operated “retouching” in texts, barely seen monumental edition of the publication “Eminescu” of Perpessicius (1939-1963).

Mihai Eminescu published prose: “Poor Dionis” fantastic short story, “Cezara” erotic and romantic story, “anniversary” erotic sketch.

On October 28, 1948, he became an honorary member of the Romanian Academy post-mortem, a sign of appreciation for the valuable cultural heritage that we left it. In January 2005, the anniversary of 155 years since the birth of the poet Mihai Eminescu coincided with the emergence after decades of attempts and efforts, the first volume of manuscripts Eminescu edition facsimile issued under the Romanian Academy, volume coordinated by Eugen Simion, President of the National Foundation for Science and Art. 15 January 2006 were launched volumes II-VI of this release, and in 2008, the anniversary of 158 years since the birth of Mihai Eminescu, saw the launch of another 12 volumes of the series manuscripts facsimiled of Mihai Eminescu, who were added to the seven published from 2005 to date.

Mihai Eminescu died on 15 June 1889. He was buried in the cemetery, then resting place in the shade of a linden, becoming a place of pilgrimage for Romanian.
