Tudor accepts and thus the first Romanian newspaper “The Propaganda Sheet”
Creator of tricolor
Although the history of Romania’s national flag is still unclear, the three colors being randomly used by several Roman armies throughout history, Petrache Poenaru was the one who finally brought it to the conscience of the Romans.
Inspired by the French, Poenaru makes the modern tricolor flag, which soon becomes the flag of Tudor Vladimirescu’s army, thus replacing the old flagged flag in two squares of canvas (white-blue). Also taken over by the passoptists, the tricolor comes from 1881 national flag.
