<\/span><span title=\"\u015ei iat\u0103 c\u0103 &quot;f\u0103r\u0103 de veste sa f\u0103cut din cer un vuiet ca de suflare de v\u00e2nt ce vine repede \u015fi a umplut toat\u0103 casa unde \u015fedeau. \u015ei limbi ca de foc li s-au ar\u0103tat, \u00eemp\u0103r\u0163ite, \u015fi au \u015fezut pe fiecare din ei.\">And behold, there was no sound from heaven, like a wind blowing fast, and filled the whole house where they sat, and tongues like fire appeared to them, divided, and sat upon each of them. <\/span><span title=\"\u015ei s-au umplut to\u0163i de Duh Sf\u00e2nt \u015fi au \u00eenceput s\u0103 gr\u0103iasc\u0103 \u00een alte limbi, precum le d\u0103dea lor Duhul a gr\u0103i&quot; (Fap. 2, 2-4). \">And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit spoke to them &#8220;(Acts 2, 2-4).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span title=\"La ultima Cin\u0103, Hristos promite pe Duhul Apostolilor S\u0103i \">At the last Supper, Christ promises the Spirit of His Apostles<br \/>\n<\/span><span title=\"Ului\u0163i de acest fenomen, care nu se ar\u0103ta a fi ceva ce se petrecea \u00een fiecare zi, Apostolii au ie\u015fit afar\u0103 \u015fi au \u00eenceput s\u0103 vorbeasc\u0103 cu cei care, la auzul sunetului aceluia, se adunaser\u0103 \u00een jurul casei.\">Fear of this phenomenon, which did not appear to be something that happened every day, the Apostles went out and began to talk to those who, at the sound of that sound, had gathered around the house. <\/span><span title=\"To\u0163i cei care-i ascultau, de\u015fi erau de foarte multe na\u0163ionalit\u0103\u0163i, &quot;din tot neamul de sub cer&quot;, \u00eei \u00een\u0163elegeau perfect pe Apostoli \u00een ceea ce gr\u0103iau (Fap. 2, 5).\">All who listened to them, even though they were of many nationalities, &#8220;of all the race under heaven,&#8221; understood perfectly the Apostles in what they were saying (Acts 2: 5). <\/span><span title=\"A\u015fadar, fiecare \u00eei \u00een\u0163elegea \u00een limba lui de acas\u0103, \u00een limba lui matern\u0103. \">So everybody understood them in his own language, in his native language.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span title=\"Evenimentul venirii Sf\u00e2ntului Duh, \u00een ziua Cincizecimii (Fap. 2, 1-4), este descris de c\u0103tre Evanghelistul Luca prin intermediul unei incluziuni: &quot;erau to\u0163i \u00eempreun\u0103 la un loc&quot; \u015fi &quot;s-au umplut to\u0163i de Duh Sf\u00e2nt&quot;.\">The event of the coming of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost (Fap. 2, 1-4) is described by Evangelist Luke through an inclusion: &#8220;they were all together together,&#8221; and &#8220;all were filled with the Holy Ghost.&#8221; <\/span><span title=\"Fenomenului auditiv: &quot;vuietul ca de suflare de v\u00e2nt&quot;, i se adaug\u0103 un altul, cu caracter vizual: &quot;limbi ca de foc li s-au ar\u0103tat, \u00eemp\u0103r\u0163ite, \u015fi s-au a\u015fezat pe fiecare din ei&quot;, adic\u0103 peste Apostoli,\">The auditory phenomenon: &#8220;the sound of wind blowing&#8221;, another is added, with a visual character: &#8220;tongues like fire appeared to them, divided and settled on each of them&#8221;, that is, over the Apostles, <\/span><span title=\"\u015fi nu peste to\u0163i cei care erau \u00eempreun\u0103 cu ei, aduna\u0163i la un loc, \u015fi anume cei 120 de Ucenici (Fap. 2, 15).\">And not all those who were with them, assembled together, namely the 120 Disciples (Acts 2, 15). <\/span><span title=\"Promisiunea venirii Duhului, la ultima Cin\u0103 Pascal\u0103, s-a dat numai Apostolilor, nu \u015fi celorlal\u0163i ucenici, ace\u015ftia nefiind prezen\u0163i la acest eveniment, petrecut doar cu c\u00e2teva ceasuri \u00eenainte de Patima Sa.\">The promise of the coming of the Spirit, at the last Paschal Dinner, was given only to the Apostles, not to the other disciples, who were not present at this event, spent only a few hours before His Passion. <\/span><span title=\"A\u015fadar, cuv\u00e2ntul &quot;to\u0163i&quot; trebuie referit numai la Apostoli, nu \u015fi la ceilal\u0163i Ucenici \u015fi &quot;fra\u0163i&quot; care erau \u00eempreun\u0103 cu Apostolii Domnului. \">Therefore, the word &#8220;all&#8221; should refer only to the Apostles, not to the other disciples and &#8220;brethren&#8221; who were with the Apostles of the Lord.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span title=\"Desigur, \u00eentrebarea care se pune \u00een acest context \u015fi pe care \u015fi-au pus-o de-a lungul timpului numero\u015fi exege\u0163i este dac\u0103 Apostolii au vorbit real limbile celor prezen\u0163i la eveniment sau Duhul Sf\u00e2nt traducea ascult\u0103torilor ceea ce Apostolii vorbeau \u00eentr-o singur\u0103 limb\u0103\">Of course, the question put in this context and which many exegetes have put over time is whether the Apostles actually spoke the languages \u200b\u200bof those present at the event, or the Holy Spirit translated to the hearers what the Apostles spoke in one language <\/span><span title=\"?\">?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\"><span title=\"?\"><span title=\"Nu putem accepta dec\u00e2t un singur r\u0103spuns: Apostolii au vorbit real limbile celor prezen\u0163i la Ierusalim cu ocazia s\u0103rb\u0103torii Cincizecimii \u015fi care au fost martorii efectului real al venirii Duhului Sf\u00e2nt peste ei.\">We can only accept one answer: The apostles actually spoke the languages \u200b\u200bof those present at Jerusalem on the feast of Pentecost and witnessed the real effect of the coming of the Holy Spirit upon them. <\/span><span title=\"Altfel, a\u015fa cum constat\u0103 \u015fi Sf\u00e2ntul Grigorie de Nazianz, &quot;minunea ar fi fost mai degrab\u0103 la cei ce ascultau dec\u00e2t la cei ce vorbeau&quot;.\">Otherwise, as St. Gregory of Nazianz notes, &#8220;the miracle would have been more to those who listened than to those who spoke.&#8221; <\/span><span title=\"Or, Sfin\u0163ii Apostoli au fost cei ce-au primit glossolalia, sau harisma vorbirii \u00een limbi, ca dar al Sf\u00e2ntului Duh. \">The Holy Apostles were the ones who received the glossolalia, or the charisma of speaking in tongues, as a gift of the Holy Spirit.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span title=\"Dar \u00een\u0163elegerea harismei &quot;vorbirii \u00een alte limbi&quot; este determinat\u0103, \u00een textul mai sus amintit, de interpretarea evenimentului Cincizecimii.\">But the understanding of the charisma of &#8220;speaking in other languages&#8221; is determined, in the above-mentioned text, by the interpretation of the Pentecost event. <\/span><span title=\"Este acesta o minune auditiv\u0103, argument \u00een acest sens fiind faptul c\u0103 fiecare dintre iudeii veni\u0163i din diaspor\u0103 &quot;\u00eei auzea pe ei gr\u0103ind \u00een limba sa&quot; (Fap. 2, 6) \u015fi se \u00eentreba: &quot;cum de auzim noi fiecare limba noastr\u0103 (Fap\">This is an auditory miracle, an argument in this regard being that each of the Jews who came from the diaspora &#8220;heard them speaking in his tongue&#8221; (Fap. 2, 6) and wondered: &#8220;how do we each hear our own language <\/span><span title=\". 2, 8), sau este o minune a limbajului, deoarece Apostolii gr\u0103iau \u00een limba celor veni\u0163i (Fap. 2, 6), fiind subliniat \u015fi con\u0163inutul vorbirii lor: &quot;vorbind \u00een limbile noastre despre m\u0103re\u0163iile lui Dumnezeu&quot; (Fap. 2,\">2, 8), or it is a miracle of language, because the Apostles spoke in the language of the coming (Acts 2, 6), and the content of their speech is emphasized: &#8220;speaking in our tongues about the greatness of God&#8221; (Acts 2: <\/span><span title=\"11)? \">11)?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span title=\"Cartea Faptele Apostolilor relateaz\u0103 foarte clar c\u0103 to\u0163i cei umplu\u0163i de Duh Sf\u00e2nt &quot;au \u00eenceput s\u0103 gr\u0103iasc\u0103 \u00een alte limbi, precum le d\u0103dea lor Duhul a gr\u0103i&quot;, \u00eenainte ca mul\u0163imea s\u0103 se adune (Fap. 2, 6).\">The Book of Acts of the Apostles clearly states that all those filled with the Holy Spirit &#8220;began to speak in other tongues, as He gave them their Spirit to speak,&#8221; before the crowd came together (Acts 2: 6). <\/span><span title=\"Minunea a fost la nivelul vorbitorilor \u00een limbi, nu la cel al ascult\u0103torilor, scopul ei fiind de a demonstra c\u0103 Duhul Sf\u00e2nt se pogor\u00e2se asupra vorbitorilor, nu asupra ascult\u0103torilor. \">The miracle was at the level of the speakers in tongues, not the listeners, its purpose being to prove that the Holy Spirit had descended upon the speakers, not the hearers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span title=\"Faptul c\u0103 unii dintre iudeii din Ierusalim, care i-au auzit vorbind, i-au luat &quot;\u00een b\u0103taie de joc&quot; (Fap. 2, 13) subliniaz\u0103 ideea c\u0103 &quot;vorbirea \u00een alte limbi&quot; indic\u0103 prezen\u0163a unei alte limbi, diferit\u0103 de cea\">The fact that some of the Jews in Jerusalem, who have heard them speaking, took them &#8220;in battle&#8221; (Fap. 2:13) underlines the idea that &#8220;speaking in other languages&#8221; indicates the presence of a different language, different from <\/span><span title=\"nativ\u0103 a celor ce ascultau.\">Native to listeners. <\/span><span title=\"Iar faptul c\u0103 pentru to\u0163i cei men\u0163iona\u0163i \u00een versetele 2, 8-11 (par\u0163i, mezi, elami\u0163i) limba vorbit\u0103 de c\u0103tre Apostoli nu era o limb\u0103 str\u0103in\u0103 lor accentueaz\u0103 c\u00e2t se poate de clar opinia potrivit c\u0103reia &quot;vorbirea \u00een alte limbi&quot; era un fapt\">And the fact that for all those mentioned in verses 2, 8-11 (parcels, between, elamites) the language spoken by the Apostles was not a foreign language they emphasize as clearly as possible the opinion that &#8220;speaking in other languages&#8221; was a fact <\/span><span title=\"inteligibil.\">intelligible. <\/span><span title=\"Dac\u0103 to\u0163i cei prezen\u0163i observ\u0103 faptul c\u0103 acei &quot;Galileieni&quot; vorbeau limba \u00een care ei (ascult\u0103torii) s-au n\u0103scut, putem astfel concluziona c\u0103 limba vorbit\u0103 de Apostoli, fiind una inteligibil\u0103, nu avea nevoie de traducere. \">If all those present observe that those &#8220;Galileans&#8221; spoke the language in which they (the hearers) were born, we can conclude that the language spoken by the Apostles, being intelligible, did not require translation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span title=\"Pe de alt\u0103 parte, Sf\u00e2ntul Apostol Petru interpreteaz\u0103 minunea de la Cincizecime \u00een lumina profe\u0163iei lui Ioil, d\u00e2ndu-i valoarea eshatologic\u0103 a judec\u0103\u0163ii lui Dumnezeu.\">On the other hand, the Apostle Peter interprets the miracle of Pentecost in the light of Joel&#8217;s prophecy, giving him the eschatological value of God&#8217;s judgment. <\/span><span title=\"\u00cen lumina paralelei cu textul din Isaia 28, semnul vorbirii \u00een limbi trebuia s\u0103 fie un semn al vestirii judec\u0103\u0163ii lui Dumnezeu.\">In the light of the parallel with the text of Isaiah 28, the sign of speaking in tongues was to be a sign of the proclamation of God&#8217;s judgment. <\/span><span title=\"Dac\u0103 vorbirea \u00een limbi, de la Cincizecime, n-ar fi fost \u00een\u0163eleas\u0103 de cei care o auzeau, ea s-ar fi transformat pentru ei \u00een mesajul judec\u0103\u0163ii, nu \u00een cel al m\u00e2ntuirii.\">If speech in Pentecostal tongues would not have been understood by those who heard it, it would have turned them into the message of judgment, not the one of salvation. <\/span><span title=\"A\u015fa se face c\u0103 Sf\u00e2ntul Apostol Petru se ridic\u0103 s\u0103 t\u00e2lcuiasc\u0103 ceea ce s-a vorbit \u00een alte limbi \u015fi pentru iudeii care nu cuno\u015fteau limbile \u00een care Duhul le-a dat ucenicilor s\u0103 vorbeasc\u0103. \">This is how the Apostle Peter stands up to interpret what was spoken in other languages, and to the Jews who did not know the languages \u200b\u200bin which the Spirit gave the disciples speech.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span title=\"Cunosc\u0103tori ai limbii aramaice, Apostolii erau \u00eemputernici\u0163i s\u0103 propov\u0103duiasc\u0103 Evanghelia la &quot;toate neamurile&quot; (Mt. 28, 20).\">Knowing the Aramaic language, the Apostles were empowered to preach the gospel to &#8220;all nations&#8221; (Mt. 28:20). <\/span><span title=\"De aceea, Sf\u00e2ntul Ioan Hrisostom se \u00eentreab\u0103: &quot;\u015ei cum anume i-au convertit Apostolii pe ace\u015ftia? Din moment ce cuno\u015fteau o singur\u0103 limb\u0103, cea a iudeilor, cum au putut s\u0103-l conving\u0103 pe scit, pe ind \u015fi pe trac? Primind\">Therefore, Saint John Chrysostom asks, &#8220;And how exactly did the Apostles convert them? Since they knew one language, the one of the Jews, how could they convince him on the shield, the ind and the Thracian? <\/span><span title=\"desigur, prin harul Sf\u00e2ntului Duh, darul de a vorbi \u00een limba fiec\u0103ruia&quot;. \">Of course, through the grace of the Holy Spirit, the gift of speaking in the language of every one. &#8220;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span title=\"Sf\u00e2ntul Grigorie de Nyssa propune aceea\u015fi perspectiv\u0103 de \u00een\u0163elegere a evenimentului: &quot;A\u015fadar, ace\u015ftia (Apostolii) vorbeau par\u0163ial elami\u0163ilor, mezilor \u015fi celorlalte neamuri, schimb\u00e2ndu-\u015fi, dup\u0103 voie, graiurile lor \u00een limbile neamurilor...&quot; \">St. Gregory of Nyssa proposes the same perspective of understanding the event: &#8220;Therefore, they (the Apostles) spoke partially to the Elamites, to the Gentiles, and to the Gentiles, willingly changing their spoken words into the languages \u200b\u200bof the Gentiles &#8230;&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span title=\"Minunea vorbirii \u00een limbi \u015fi logica omeneasc\u0103 \"><strong>The miracle of speech in tongues and human logic<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><span title=\"Desigur, tot acest mod de descriere a efectului venirii Duhului peste Apostoli, manifestat \u00een vorbirea de limbi str\u0103ine, f\u0103r\u0103 s\u0103 fi fost \u00eenv\u0103\u0163ate \u00een prealabil, sfideaz\u0103 orice logic\u0103 omeneasc\u0103.\">Of course, all this way of describing the effect of the Spirit&#8217;s coming upon the Apostles, manifested in the language of speech, without having been taught in advance, defies any human logic. <\/span><span title=\"\u015ei trebuie s\u0103 recunoa\u015ftem c\u0103 a\u015fa este.\">And we have to admit that it is. <\/span><span title=\"Dar este a\u015fa numai dup\u0103 logica noastr\u0103 p\u0103m\u00e2nteasc\u0103.\">But it is only according to our earthly logic. <\/span><span title=\"Ne mir\u0103m, ne \u00eentreb\u0103m, \u015fi nici mirarea \u015fi nici \u00eentrebarea nu ni le pot lua nimeni.\">We are wondering, we ask, and no wonder can be taken by anyone. <\/span><span title=\"Avem dreptul s\u0103 ne mir\u0103m \u015fi s\u0103 ne \u00eentreb\u0103m!\">We have the right to wonder and ask ourselves! <\/span><span title=\"Important este \u00eens\u0103 ce r\u0103spuns g\u0103sim la mirarea \u015fi \u00eentreb\u0103rile noastre.\">What is important, however, is the answer to our wonder and questions. <\/span><span title=\"A\u015fadar, pot avea lucrurile, \u00een cazul nostru, vorbirea Apostolilor \u00een limbi ne\u00eenv\u0103\u0163ate de ei, \u015fi o alt\u0103 logic\u0103 dec\u00e2t aceea pe care noi o \u00een\u0163elegem?\">So can the things in our case have the Apostles&#8217; speaking in tongues unlearned by them, and a logic other than what we understand?
